On Wednesday, 23 September, the Media Board organised its first Stakeholders’ Forum. The Forum provided an opportunity for direct exchange on the challenges facing media pluralism and sustainability and on the Media Board’s ongoing and future work.

The Media Board considers the protection of minors as a priority issue. Therefore, the Board welcomes the attention dedicated during Commission President Ursula von der Leyen's State of the Union address to the need to strengthen the protection of minors in the digital environment.

The Media Board submitted its contribution to the European Commission’s consultation on the evaluation and planned review of the AVMSD, stressing the need for a revision to ensure the regulatory framework keeps pace with the profound transformation of the audiovisual ecosystem.

The Media Board adopted its opinion pursuant to Art. 4(4) of the AVMSD, concluding that the request of Hungary to adopt anti-circumvention measures was not substantiated and their actions did not satisfy the conditions set out in the Article.

On 2 July 2026, the Media Board held its fifth Plenary Meeting in Brussels under the chairmanship of Amma Asante (CvdM, Netherlands), reviewing the results achieved in the first half of 2026 and to set priorities for the year ahead. This was preceded by the first joint meeting with the DSA Board.
