Media Board Plenary Meeting

The next Media Board Plenary Meeting will be held on 30/06/2025.

What is the Media Board

The European Board for Media Services brings together national media regulators from across the European Union to support the consistent and effective application of media legislation promoting a free, pluralistic, trusted and competitive media environment throughout Europe.

The Media Board is an independent advisory body created by the European Media Freedom Act. It gathers independent national media regulators and works closely with the European Commission to support media regulation at EU level.

The Board’s main goals are to strengthen media freedom, pluralism and transparency, ensure better cooperation among regulators, and respond to the challenges of the digital era, including disinformation and the protection of fundamental rights.

The Media Board is composed of representatives from national media regulators of EU Member States. It is led by an elected Chair and Vice-Chair and works through plenary meetings and thematic working groups to share knowledge and develop guidance.
